JAVA HOME SETTING For Windows

PICTURE TIME!  Just Follow Along…  Read instructions under the pictures for more guidance.

Select Start > Right Click on "Computer" > Select "Properties"
Start > Right Click on “Computer” > Select “Properties”
Look under the BIG WIndows Logo - (Win 7) and click the link "Change settings"
Look under the BIG WIndows Logo – (Win 7) and click the link “Change settings”
Click on "Environment Variables"
Click on “Environment Variables”
Click on "New" (the one on the bottom) for System Variables
Click on “New” (the one on the bottom) for System Variables
Variable name:  JAVA_HOME Variable value:  C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6 Progra~1 = 'Program Files' Progra~2 = 'Program Files(x86)' *  There is a jre7 now so check for yourself in the C:\Progra~1\Java\ directory.
Variable name: JAVA_HOME
Variable value: C:\Progra~1\Java\jre6
Progra~1 = ‘Program Files’
Progra~2 = ‘Program Files(x86)’
* There is a jre7 now so check for yourself in the C:\Progra~1\Java\ directory.

You’ll have to restart in order for this to take affect. For XP it’s the same concept but Right-Click on MyComputer > Properties etc…
