Linux | Unix

I’m by far no expert here but as I learn new things I’ll post them.
I do noticed if we are all honest forget even the simplest of commands.

For this main page I’ll be adding the commands between version (vi / vim) and stuff.

TCPDUMP
/usr/sbin/tcpdump -A -s 1492 port 8087

HTPASSWD ADMIN
/usr/local/apache2/sbin/htpasswd /prod/didtester/.htpasswd admin_rlong

CHMOD

chmod linux / unix
chmod linux / unix

Do when you need a developer to give you rights to read – you can say “give me read access” – no need to give numbers.  Or if you have to do it your 3rd number needs to be 4 “i.e. sudo chmod 764 shellscript.sh” gives the owner full access, group read/write and others just read.
